Utah State's Snelgro WAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Utah State guard Danyelle Snelgro has been named the Western Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 16-22. This is the second WAC Player of the Week honor of the season for Snelgro.

The senior from Altadena, Calif., led the Aggies to a come-from-behind win over third-place Boise State and a double overtime victory over second-place Idaho. In the road win over Boise State, Snelgro led the Aggies from an 18-point deficit to a four-point win, scoring 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting and adding six assists. In the win over the Vandals, she was one point shy of her career high, finishing with 28 points on 11-of-20 from the field. She also added four rebounds, three assists and two steals. For the week, Snelgro averaged 22.5 points on 55 percent shooting to go with 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. The guard had only four turnovers in 80 minutes of play for a 2.25 assist-turnover ratio. Snelgro and the Aggies have matched their most WAC ever wins as USU stands 7-5 in league play.

Other nominees included: Brittany Moore of Boise State averaged 15.5 points as the Broncos went 1-1 on the week ... Hawai‘i’s Megan Tinnin averaged 12.0 points and 5.0 rebounds as the Rainbow Wahine went 1-1 on the week ... Yinka Olorunnife of Idaho averaged 14.0 points and 12.0 rebounds on the week ... Louisiana Tech’s Adrienne Johnson averaged 22.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in a pair of wins ... Johnna Ward of Nevada averaged 14.5 points and 3.0 rebounds as the Wolf Pack went 1-1 on the week.
