South African radio reports that double-amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorious has been badly injured in a boating accident.

Radio 702 says Pistorius was undergoing surgery and was in
serious but stable condition in an intensive care unit at a
hospital.

Pistorius' manager, Peet van Zyl, says a statement would be
issued later Sunday.
Pistorius, nicknamed the Blade Runner for his prosthetic racing
blades, fought a legal battle to be allowed to compete against able
bodied athletes. He won the case, but missed out on qualifying for
the Beijing Olympics.
