Gordo Castillo scored 20 points as New Mexico State won its season-best fourth consecutive game by beating Cal State Fullerton 94-86 Saturday night.
The Aggies (15-12) trailed 44-43 at halftime of the
non-conference game before Castillo scored nine of his team's
points during a decisive 17-4 run early in the second half.
Castillo hit three of his six 3-pointers during the run that put
New Mexico State ahead 71-60 with 11:16 remaining.
Cal State Fullerton (13-14) was led by senior guard Josh
Akognon's 32 points.
The Titans closed to 92-86 with 24 seconds left but got no
closer.
New Mexico State has now won six of its last seven games heading
into the last two weeks of the regular-season in the Western
Athletic Conference.
