Tormey Joins Hawai'i Staff

Washington assistant coach Chris Tormey is the new special teams coach at Hawai'i.

Tormey, who has served as head coach at Idaho and Nevada, will
also assist with the Warriors' defensive secondary.

Hawaii coach Greg McMackin says Tormey has extensive experience
and is one of the best recruiters in the country. Tormey played
linebacker under McMackin at Idaho in the late 1970s.

Tormey served as linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator
for the Huskies, a position he held since 2004.

He fills the vacancy left when Ikaika Malloe who accepted the
defensive coordinator job at Yale.

Tormey spent four seasons as the head coach at Nevada, compiling a 16-31 overall record
