RENO - The McQueen High School administrative staff has received a letter of resignation from longtime football coach Ken Dalton.

Dalton informed his players of his decision on Wednesday afternoon. The staff received his letter on Thursday.

Dalton has coached football at the school for the past 27 years and plans on staying with McQueen as a business and physical education teacher.

He led the Lancers to a state championship in his final season with the school.

Several weeks ago, three of his players signed letters of intent to play football at premier Division I schools.

Kolo-8 News Now hopes to bring you more from the coach tonight at 5 and 6:30pm.
