The San Francisco Giants have offered free-agent Rich Aurilia a one-year Minor League contract with an open invitation to Spring Training
Aurilia would earn $1 million dollars if he were to make the major league roster.
The free-agent infielder made a counter-offer to the Giants. Details of that proposal have not been released.
Aurilia enjoyed a good season last year, batting .283 with 10 home runs and 52 RBIs. And his .321 average against left-handed pitchers ranked 15th in the National League.
