Kobe Sets MSG Record with 61 Points

Kobe Bryant has scored 61 points against the New York Knicks, breaking the record for a game at the current Madison Square Garden.

Bernard King had 60 points for the Knicks on Dec. 25, 1984.
Bryant surpassed that mark by hitting two free throws with 2:33
left in the Los Angeles Lakers' 126-117 win Monday night.

Bryant shot 19-of-31 from the floor and made all 20 foul shots.
He left to a standing ovation with 1:48 to go.

The Knicks played their first game at the current Madison Square
Garden, known as "Garden IV," in February 1968.
