Authorities detected the presence of steroids in urine samples linked to former Giants slugger Barry Bonds that were gathered during their investigation, according to the New York Times.
In 2003, Bonds testified before a federal grand jury in 2003 that he used substances "cream" and the "clear" but did not know that they were performance-enhancing drugs. The urine samples could prove the existence of additional steroids in his body.
The government has accused Bonds of lying under oath. A perjury trial is scheduled to start on March 2.
