Bonine Designated for Assignment

Former Wolf Pack pitcher Eddie Bonine was designated for assignment on Saturday. The Detroit Tigers made the move to open up a roster spot for a newly signed relief pitcher.

Bonine pitched in five games with the Tigers last season, going 2-1 with a 5.40 ERA. He was dominant at the AAA level, going 12-4 with the Toledo Mud Hens.

Bonine will now either be traded, released or assigned to one of Detroit's minor league clubs. Bonine has the option of declining the assignment.
