Qualls Files For Arbitration

Former Wolf Pack standout and Arizona Diamondbacks reliever Chad Qualls filed for salary arbitration on Thursday.

Qualls earned $1.3 million and had one of his best seasons in 2008.

The five-year veteran struck out 71 and only walked 18 in 73 innings last season. He also posted a 2.81 earned run average and saved nine games.

He is expected to close for the Diamondbacks in 2009.
