Pack Softball Ranked In Pre-season Poll

The Wolf Pack Softball team is ranked number 18 in the nation, according to a story published by ESPN U.

ESPN cites Nevada's WAC-best .847 on base plus slugging percentage last season and the fact that the team will be returning most of its bats.

Pitcher Katie Holverson is expected to help the Pack contend for a National Championship. Holverson went 22-6 with 219 strikeouts in 207.1 innings last season.

The Pack will also be counting on newcomer Mallary Darby from Spanish Springs. Darby walked just 10 in 96 innings as a senior.

Nevada finished last season 44-18 and lost to UCLA in the Los Angeles regional.
