Hamidu Rahman sank a pair of free throws with 2.7 seconds remaining to lift New Mexico State past San Jose State 75-73 on Monday night.
Wendell McKines scored a career-high 21 points for the Aggies
(8-7, 2-0 WAC), who beat the Spartans for the eighth straight time.
Jahmar Young added 17 points while Rahman had 13. Jonathan Gibson
scored all 11 of his points in the second half.
C.J. Webster scored a career-high 22 points and had nine
rebounds for the Spartans (6-6, 0-2), who lost for the third time
in four games. Adrian Oliver had 15 and Justin Graham scored 10 of
his 12 points in the second half.
Webster made two foul shots to give San Jose State a one-point
edge with just under two minutes remaining. Gibson tied it with 46
seconds left to set up the game-winning foul shots.
San Jose State held a 39-37 lead at halftime.
