The Reno City Council and SK Baseball co-owner Jerry Katzoff donated $15,000 to help cover the travel costs for the McQueen Marching Band. They are set to perform at the Rose Bowl Parade.
The band had trouble raising enough funds for all 149 members to travel to the Parade.
The council donated $8,000, while Katzoff chipped in another $7,000 himself. Katzoff is the co-owner of the Reno Aces.
The band was able to raise nearly $285,000 themselves for the trip. It's their first-ever appearance at the Rose Bowl Parade.
