Arena League Cancels 2009 Season

Former Wolf Pack quarterback John Dutton rose to fame in the Arena Football League. He even graced the cover of the AFL's first video game. But now his future is uncertain.

The AFL's owners voted to cancel the 2009 season on Monday. That decision is pending approval from the Players Union. The league is facing some serious financial problems and it's return is in jeopardy.

The owners are looking to establish a financial foundation for long-term success. They hope to be back on the field by the 2010 season.

Dutton is one of the league's most recognizable faces. He's the first player in AFL history to pass for over 4,100 yards five seasons in a row. He also led the Crush to the AFL title back in 2005. He holds every passing record in team history.
