Lawyer: Burress To Turn Himself In Monday

LANDOVER, Md. (AP) - Plaxico Burress' lawyer says the New York Giants star receiver will turn himself in to New York City police tomorrow and plead not guilty to criminal possession of a weapon.

Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg Friday night at a Manhattan night club.

In a statement to The Associated Press, Benjamin Brafman said he hopes fans, the team and the media will withhold judgment until all of the facts have been disclosed.

The NFL is not commenting other than to say that it's cooperating with the police and monitoring the situation.

As for Burress' medical condition, Giants' GM Jerry Reese says as far as the team knows he's going to be OK. Burress already been ruled out of today's game -- which the Giants won -- because of a leg injury.

And coach Tom Coughlin (KAWF'-lin) says the team did not lose focus over the shooting incident.
