Darrell Rasner is heading to Japan. The New York Yankees sold his rights to the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles of the Pacific League on Saturday. He's expected to sign a two-year deal with the club.
Rasner and his agent approached the Yankees with the idea.
The former Wolf Pack star went 5-10 this season with a 5.40 E.R.A. in 24 games with the Yankees.
He was originally a second-round draft pick by Montreal in 2002. He has a 9-15 record with a 5.00 ERA in four major league seasons.
Rasner is also a graduate of Carson High School
