Fields Cleared

Brandon Fields, the top returning scorer on
Nevada's basketball team, has been cleared of any criminal
wrongdoing in an alleged shoplifting incident at a Sparks sporting
goods store.
Fields' lawyer says the case involving a charge of petty larceny
was dismissed Tuesday afternoon. Scott Freeman told the Reno
Gazette-Journal that "it vindicates him from any allegation that
he was involved in any illegal activity.
Fields averaged 12.4 points per game last season.
The 6-foot-4 junior guard from Arlington, Texas was one of three
Wolf Pack players that coach Mark Fox suspended indefinitely
following their citations for petty larceny at a Scheels store on
Oct. 15.
Freshman guard London Giles pleaded guilty last week and was
fined $350 plus court costs of $107. Freshman forward Ahyaro
Phillips pleaded not guilty and is awaiting a trial date.
No word on when Fields might be reinstated.
