Church, Mets Out of Playoffs

Ryan Church was trying to get to the post-season for the first time in his career. Instead, the former Wolf Pack star will have to watch the playoffs from the bench.

The Marlins beat the Mets 4-2 on the final day of the season. The Brewers then went out and beat the Cubs 3-1. Milwaukee has clinched the National League Wild Card Spot. The Mets are eliminated from the playoffs.

Church was unable to get anything going offensively. He went 0-4 with three strikeouts. It was his second game in a row that he struck out three times.

Church wraps up the year with a .276 batting average, with 12 Home Runs and 49 RBI.
