Bengals Release QB Jeff Rowe

Jeff Rowe lost his battle with Jordan Palmer for the third-string QB job. The former Wolf Pack quarterback was released on Saturday in the Bengals' final round of cuts.

Rowe had been the team's third-string QB all preseason, but the team has elevated Palmer into that role.

Rowe played in all four of the Bengals preseason games, completing 24 of 43 passes for 228 yards and one interception.

He was the Bengals' 5th round pick in the 2007 NFL draft. He was inactive for every game his rookie year with Cincinnati.

Rowe is also a McQueen High School graduate.
