Nevada junior Ryan Hallisey tied the course
record with an 8-under-par 62 to take a one-stroke lead through two
rounds of the 42nd Pacific Coast Amateur Championship in British
Columbia.

Hallisey is a second-team all-Western Athletic Conference
selection who turned in four top 10 finishes for the Wolf Pack this
past season. He shot a 1-under 69 in his opening round on Tuesday
for a two-round total of 9-under 131 at Royal Colwood Golf Club in
Victoria.

He was one stroke ahead of Derek Tolan of Boulder, Colo.,
entering Thursday's third round.

A native of Granite Bay, Calif., Hallisey's round of 62 on
Wednesday included 10 pars and eight birdies, including five in a
row to finish. The tourney runs through Friday.
