RENO, Nev. (AP) - Parker McLachlin is picking where he left off yesterday, extending his lead to five strokes midway through the third round of the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open.

McLachlin tied the course record yesterday with a 10-under-par 62 and began the day four strokes ahead at 14-under. Through the front nine today, he already has an eagle and two birdies to get to 18-under par.

England's Brian Davis is 13-under through nine, followed by John Rollins, John Merrick and Nick Flanagan all at 11-under on the mountain course at Montreux Golf & Country Club.

1987 Masters winner Larry Mize started the day at 10-under, four
strokes off the pace but played the front nine two-over today to slip back to minus eight.

The 29-year-old McLachlin eagled the par-4 fifth hole when his 344-yard drive rolled onto the green and he sank the nine foot putt.

He had a chance to eagle the hole before when he hit his second
shot 200 yards to within 6 feet of the pin on the par-5 fourth, but
rolled his putt a foot past the hole and had to settle for birdie.

He made a 28-foot downhill putt for birdie on the 616-yard par-5 ninth to close out the front at four-under 32.

Davis eagled the ninth when he drove the ball 342 yards then hit his second shot 266 yards to within six feet of the pin and dropped the putt. Rollins had an eagle with a six-foot putt on the par-5 fourth.
