RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada women's basketball coach Kim Gervasoni
announced her resignation on Thursday, citing undisclosed personal
reasons.

Gervasoni compiled a record of 59-92 in five years coaching the Wolf Pack. She is one of two coaches in school history with at least 50 career victories.

She led the Wolf Pack to their first postseason bid in school history with a WNIT appearance in 2007. Her most recent team went 18-12, the most wins at Nevada since the 1999-2000 season.

Her late husband, Mike Gervasoni, was one of her assistant coaches until he was killed in a car accident in October 2004.

"I appreciate the support from the administration, support staff, my coaching staff, the players, my friends, family and the community," Gervasoni said in a statement released by the university. "I'm grateful for my experience here and I am excited about my future."

Nevada athletic director Cary Groth said a national search for a replacement would begin immediately.

"We're going to miss Kim. We understand how tough this decision was for her and we support her," Groth said.
