Former Nevada basketball star Ramon Sessions has been named the NBA Eastern Conference's Rookie of the Month.
Sessions averaged 11.5 points and 11.3 assists in April for the Milwaukee Bucks. The 6-foot-3 point guard also averaged 4.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 46 percent from the field.
Sessions scored a career-high 25 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves Wednesday night. He also set a franchise record with a career-high 24 assists against the Bulls earlier this month.
Sessions is the only player to have at least 20 points and 20 assists in the same game in club history. He spent most of this season in the NBA's Development League before being called up to the Bucks last month. He's the first player with D-League experience to win an NBA monthly award.
