Babbitt Named All-American

McDonald's All-America basketball team
announced today includes Luke Babbitt, the senior forward at Galena
High School who has committed to play basketball at Nevada next
year.
The 6-foot-8, 220-pound Babbitt joins former Reno star David
Padgett as the only northern Nevadan ever picked for the elite
team. Padgett is now a senior at Louisville.
Babbitt will play on the 12-member West squad in the McDonald's
All-American Game on March 26th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The game
will be televised live by ESPN.
Babbitt finished the season as the state's top scorer averaging
30.4 points per game. He scored 2,941 points in his high school
career.
ESPN ranks him the 16th best recruit overall nationally. Scouts
Incorporated considers him the fifth best power forward in the
country.
