Kelvin Davis has decided to step out of the ring. The Reno boxer announced his retirement on Friday night.
Davis was the "main-event" of he "Fight Night in the Keys" boxing card shown nationally on ESPN2's Friday Night Fights. He was stopped by Eric Field just :55 seconds into the first round.
Davis rose to fame back in 2004 when he knocked out Ezra Sellers for the IBF Cruiserweight title belt. He's the only Northern Nevada boxer to ever win a World Title.
It was a miracle he was in the ring at all. Davis suffered a broken neck and back last year during a training mishap. He fell off a bridge in Auckland, New Zealand while running. At the time, it was feared he'd never fight again.
Davis finished his career with a 24-8 overall record with 17 career knockouts.
