Padgett Suffers Knee Injury

David Padgett just can't catch a break. The former Reno High star is once again sidelined by a knee injury.

Padgett left Sunday's game against Jackson State with a bruised right knee. He returned to the bench with an ice pack taped to his knee, but he did not return to the court.

Padgett had two season-ending knee injuries back in High School, where the was the Nevada State Player of the Year and a McDonald's All-American. He also underwent surgeries on both knees after the 2005-06 college basketball season.

Louisville Head Coach Rick Pitino said that Padgett had banged the knee and suffered a bruise and some swelling. He expects the 6'11 senior to be ready to play on Wednesday against UNLV.

Padgett has been playing well for the 6th ranked Cardinals. He scored 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in just 12 minutes.
