Reno boxer Joey Gilbert was granted a continuance by the Nevada Athletic Commission for a hearing on tests that showed positive for methamphetamine and other forbidden substances after a September fight.
The commission granted the delay today after an earlier positive methamphetamine result was not confirmed this week and other tests
remained under analysis.
Commissioners agreed to hold off the disciplinary hearing until all of the test results were in and Gilbert's doctors and attorneys had a chance to review them.
Gilbert says the commission's final decision goes beyond boxing.
In his words, "It has ruined my reputation and turned my world upside-down."
