Cordova Released Again

Jorge Cordova thought he got a second chance to prove himself in Jacksonville. But that opportunity turned out to be short-lived. Cordova was released by the Jaguars on Monday less than a week after they signed him.

Cordova was originally a 3rd round pick by the Jags back in the 2004 NFL Draft. He spent the first two seasons of his career on the Injured Reserve with various injuries.

Cordova was one of Jacksonville's final cuts in training camp this offseason. The team brought him back on November 7th to add some depth at the linebacker spot.

Cordova was released to make room for fellow linebacker Justin Durant, who had been suspended for two games after his arrest on DUI charges.

Cordova holds the school record with 29.5 sacks in his fours years at Nevada.
