Reno Councilman Hired As Spokesman For Baseball Team

Reno Councilman Dwight Dortch has been hired as spokesman for the city's new minor league baseball team.

Dortch, who was re-elected to a second term last year, say's he'll continue his practice of abstaining from votes concerning development of the downtown baseball stadium.

This summer, a group called SK Baseball bought the Tucson Sidewinders, a Triple A Pacific Coast League team, with the intent
to bring the team to Reno.

Dortch is no stranger to Reno baseball.

In July, he resigned as general manager of the Reno Silver Sox, a team in the independent Golden Baseball League.
