Burleson NFC Special Teams POW

Former Wolf Pack star Nate Burleson was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week today (10/24/07). Burleson returned a kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown. It was his third career special teams TD, but his very first score on a kickoff.

Burleson's return opened the second half Sunday against the St. Louis Rams. It gave the Seahawks a 17-3 lead and broke open a close game.

The Seattle native is primarily a punt return specialist, and was even a Pro Bowl alternate last season. This year he is averaging 10.3 yards on an NFL-high 26 punt returns. He's also returned 4 kicks for an average of 38 yards.

Burleson ranks third on the Seahawks with 20 catches on the season, and his 4 total touchdowns are the most on the team.
