RENO, Nev.—A.J. Pollock signaled his return to the Aces lineup with three hits and four RBIs Sunday afternoon, but the Oklahoma City RedHawks erased an early deficit and edged out a 10-9 victory over Reno in front of 8,778 fans at Aces Ballpark.

Pollock—making his first appearance in a Reno uniform since being optioned back to Triple-A by the Diamondbacks—singled twice and doubled, scoring a run and driving in four more.

The Aces posted four runs in the first to jump out to an early lead. But the RedHawks responded in a big way, scoring eight runs over the next three frames to take a lead they wouldn’t let slip away. The Aces pushed across a run in the ninth to pull to within one, but they would get no closer. Oklahoma City’s win in the finale sealed a series split.

Aces starter Charles Brewer (1-4) took the loss, surrendering eight runs—four earned—on six hits over four innings of work. Brewer walked five, struck out six and allowed three home runs. After his exit, three Aces relievers held the RedHawks to two runs over the game's final five frames.

Oklahoma City spot-starter Mickey Storey took a no decision, allowing five runs on five hits over three innings. David Carpenter (1-0), the third of four RedHawk relievers to appear on the day, earned the win after working 1.2 scoreless frames. Jose Valdez came on in the ninth and picked-up the save.

David Winfree and Ryan Budde homered for the Aces Sunday, while Jake Elmore and Ryan Wheeler added two hits apiece in addition to Pollock’s three-hit day.

The Aces now kick-off a four-game series against the New Orleans Zephyrs—Triple-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins. In Monday’s opener, Arizona Diamondbacks starter RHP Daniel Hudson (0-0, No ERA) will toe the slab for the Aces on a Major League Rehabilitation Assignment. The Zephyrs will counter with RHP Tom Koehler (4-3, 3.48 ERA). First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. PT, and hot dogs will be available for just $1 as part of Om-Nom-Nomdays presented by KTVN Channel 2 News.
