Josh Bell Recalled by D'Backs, Ransom Designated for Assignment

Phoenix - The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled infielder Josh Bell from Triple-A Reno.

Bell was batting .381 in 26 games with the Aces. He had nine doubles, a triple, four home runs and 30 RBI.

Cody Ransom was designated for assignment to make room for Bell on the Arizona roster. Ransom has 10 days to accept the assignment or become a free agent.

Ransom was batting .269 in 17 games with the D'backs, with four home runs and 13 RBI. He holds the Aces franchise records in home runs and RBI, hitting 27 homers with 92 RBI last season.
