RENO, Nev.— The Reno Aces used a pair of long balls from Cole Gillespie and seven strong innings from Gaby Hernandez to beat Fresno, 11-4, Thursday night in the series finale at Aces Ballpark.

Gillespie's home runs—his seventh and eighth of the season—propelled the Aces to their third double-digit run output of this four-game set. Andy Tracy and David Winfree also homered for the Aces, who increased their PCL-leading run total to 720. With 47 games remaining, Reno remains on pace to shatter the modern-day PCL record for runs in a season.

Gaby Hernandez (4-2) was as impressive on the mound as Gillespie was at the plate for the Aces. Hernandez earned the win, surrendering just two runs—one earned—in seven innings of work, striking out six without walking a batter. Jordan Norberto allowed one earned run over the final two frames to secure the victory, Reno's ninth in its last 10 games.

Five different Aces turned in multi-hit efforts Thursday, led by Gillespie, who finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a pair of runs batted in. Tony Abreu, Collin Cowgill and Tracy—hitting first, second and third in the order—all chipped in with two hits and combined to drive in five runs.

Grizzlies starter Andrew Kown (9-7) was tagged with the loss, giving up four earned runs in 4.1 innings of work. Kown struck out five and walked three, while surrendering three of Reno's four home runs.

Armed with the Pacific Coast League’s best record, the Aces now hit the road for a five-game series against the Sacramento River Cats at Raley Field. In Friday’s opener, RHP Travis Banwart (4-6, 5.48 ERA) toes the slab for the River Cats. Reno’s starter has yet to be announced. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. PT
