SALT LAKE CITY, Utah—The Aces fell behind early and never recovered Monday night, dropping a 9-3 decision to the Salt Lake Bees at Spring Mobile Ballpark.

Martinez walked three and struck out a season-high eight batters. After his exit, Chris Jakubauskas worked the final 1.1 innings, allowing a run with two strikeouts.
The win went to Bees starter Eddie McKiernan (4-2), who scattered a run on five hits over seven frames.
At the plate for Reno, Jake Elmore finished 0-for-4, seeing his franchise-record 31-game hitting streak come to a close. Elmore was stranded on-deck in the ninth inning.
Ryan Wheeler singled twice, pushing his season hit total to 105. The Aces finished 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and stranded seven men on base.
