ATLANTA (AP) - The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed Daniel Hudson on the 15-day disabled list with a right elbow injury and have recalled left-hander Patrick Corbin from Triple-A Reno.
Manager Kirk Gibson says an MRI exam on Wednesday in Phoenix
showed a tear in Hudson's ulnar collateral ligament. Season-ending
surgery is a possibility, but Gibson said Hudson could seek a second opinion.
Hudson left Tuesday night's game with the injury.
Gibson says Josh Collmenter will take Hudson's spot in the rotation on Sunday at Milwaukee. Corbin will pitch in long relief.
The Diamondbacks also activated shortstop Stephen Drew from the
disabled list to make his season debut on Wednesday night against
the Braves. Drew is starting in his return from right ankle surgery.
Right-hander Jonathan Albaladejo was optioned to Reno.
