Aces MVP Owings Gets Chance in Big Leagues

Reno Aces shortstop Chris Owings had his contract purchased by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday. He's set to make his major league debut with the team.

Owings was the Pacific Coast League MVP and the Rookie of the Year this season. He batted .330 with 31 doubles, eight triples, 12 home runs and 81 RBI. His 181 hits were the most of any player in Triple-A.

Owings was just the third player in league history to sweep the postseason honors this season.
