TUCSON, Ariz.—The Aces were one win away from their second series win of the season on Monday night, but a 5-1 loss forced a series split with the Tucson Padres at Kino Stadium.

A night after the Aces posted a nine-run first inning, the Padres posted a crooked number in their half of the frame off Reno starter Mike Bolsinger. An RBI double off the bat of Rene Rivera and a two-RBI single by former Aces player Brandon Allen boosted Tucson to a quick 3-0 lead in the first.

Alfredo Marte singled to plate Matt Davidson in the fourth for Reno’s lone run of the game.

At the dish for Reno, Davidson, Marte and Tony Campana each went 2-for-4.

Bolsinger was charged with his second-straight loss, allowing four runs—three earned—on six hits through 7.0 innings. He struck out five and walked two.

Anthony Bass earned his earned his first win of the season for the Padres, allowing just one run on five hits, while striking out four through 5.0 frames. Miles Mikolas earned his second save of the series, and 12th save of the season, after throwing 1.1 perfect innings to close the game.

Reno now travels home for another eight-game homestand, against the Fresno Grizzlies and the Tucson Padres at Aces Ballpark. RHP Randall Delgado has been tabbed to start for the D-backs tomorrow, so the Aces will have a spot start. The Grizzlies will counter with RHP Chris Heston (6-5, 5.09 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
