PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Diamondbacks have activated catcher Miguel Montero from the disabled list.

Aces All-Star John Hester, called up when Montero went down with a sprained right knee on April 11, was sent back to Triple-A Reno.

Montero was Arizona's starter out of spring training. He was 6 for 12 with a double and three RBIs in the four games before he was hurt and hit .333 (5 for 15) in a four-game rehab assignment with Reno.

Chris Snyder had moved into the starting job with Hester his backup. Snyder was hitting .212 with eight homers and 25 RBIs entering Saturday's game against St. Louis. Hester hit just .188 with the Diamondbacks.
