RENO, Nev.— Matt Torra kept the Aces in the game until Sacramento exploded for a seven-run sixth inning, putting the game out of reach and propelling Sacramento to a 9-2 win in a Sunday matinee at Aces Ballpark.

The Aces trailed just 2-1 heading into the sixth, when the River Cats put up seven runs to put the game out of reach. Torra walked Michael Taylor after giving up a two-run blast to Matt Carson before being lifted in favor of Luis Ayala. Ayala would fare no better, as the River Cats tacked on three more runs, putting them ahead 9-1 at the time. They would coast to the 9-2 win behind strong pitching from former Ace Travis Blackley and two relievers.

Torra (3-3) pitched well through the first five innings but could not get through the sixth, as he allowed six runs—five earned—while issuing a season-high three walks.

Blackley started for the River Cats, tossing the first four innings and allowing one run. Mickey Storey (1-1) picked up the win in relief after holding the Aces scoreless over three innings, striking out four and allowing just two hits.

Jeff Bailey was the only Ace to record a multi-hit game for Reno, going 2-for-4 with a run scored. Drew Macias continued his hot hitting for Reno with a triple and a run scored.

Reno and Sacramento conclude this series Monday afternoon at Aces Ballpark. Reno RHP Wes Roemer (1-1, 1.93 ERA) will toe the slab against River Cats LHP Jesus Sanchez (0-0, No ERA).
