Aces Lose Two Pitchers to Major Leagues

RENO - Two pitchers were re-called from Triple-A Reno on Thursday to join the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Both Kevin Mulvey and Daniel Stange have been added to the big league roster.

Mulvey was 0-1 with a 4.05 ERA in four games with the Aces. He was scheduled to make the start for Reno on Thursday, but instead he's now part of the D'Backs bullpen.

Stange was 3-1 with a 2.98 ERA in eight relief appearances for Reno this season. He was a seventh round pick back in the 2005 Major League draft.

Stange was immediately put to work for Arizona, pitching one inning of relief in the Diamondbacks' 13-5 win over the Cubs.

The two pitchers were called up to take the roster spots of Kris Benson and Leo Rosales, who were both placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Meanwhile Josh Collmenter was called up by the Reno Aces from high-A Visalia. He was 2-0 with 21 strikeouts in three starts for the Rawhide. Collmenter was also named the league's Pitcher of the Week this week.
