LAS VEGAS (AP) - Developers of the planned Splash Canyon
Waterpark in southwest Las Vegas say they'll be delaying their
grand opening by one year.
The $20 million waterpark near I-215 and Sunset Road is now
targeting an opening date in spring 2013.
Officials from developer SFB Partners said Friday that they
wanted to ensure the park was fully finished by opening day so
season passholders would get their money's worth.
The waterpark is offering refunds to people who already
purchased 2012 season passes. They say they will keep job
applications that have already been submitted to them on file.
Splash Canyon plans include 20 waterslides, a 17,000-square-foot
wave pool and a 1,000-foot-long lazy river.
