LAS VEGAS (AP) - Two defendants have pleaded guilty to reduced
charges and will avoid trial in a deadly stabbing last July on the
Las Vegas Strip.
Court records show that 38-year-old Jerome Hopkins and
39-year-old Christopher Mcintosh previously faced murder, attempted
murder and battery charges in the slaying of 25-year-old Randall
"BP" Blackwell.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Hopkins pleaded guilty Wednesday to voluntary manslaughter with a weapon. Mcintosh pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
Clark County District Court Judge Jessie Walsh set sentencing
April 11.
Authorities say passersby alerted a Las Vegas police officer,
who witnessed the July 9 sidewalk fight that left Blackwell and
another man with stab wounds. The other man survived.
Police say a knife was recovered after it was tossed onto the
roof of a nearby restaurant.
