LAS VEGAS (AP) - U.S. Sen. John Ensign of Nevada says he has repented for having an extramarital affair with a former employee who was also the wife of his close friend.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Ensign was asked about
the affair Tuesday during a town hall meeting in Las Vegas.
The question elicited gasps and startled "ohs" from an audience of mostly senior citizens.
Ensign said he had repented to his "Lord," his family and anybody else he hurt.
He said he will regret the affair for the rest of his life.
Ensign plans to seek a third term in 2012, but could face a challenger in the Republican primary if Rep. Dean Heller enters the Senate race.

I believe in Repentance and forgiveness. So should we all, or close the prisons and just shoot all criminals. All politicians should be scrutinized all the time as a matter of course.
