LAS VEGAS (AP) - A former Henderson city councilwoman facing
allegations of mismanaging her charity for homeless youth is
dropping a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports a notice of voluntary dismissal was filed Thursday in Kathleen Vermillion's lawsuit against Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak.
The development is the latest in a tangled, highly public legal
dispute involving the two.
Vermillion is being investigated by the FBI for allegations of
misusing funds at the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, which
she started a decade ago.
She filed the lawsuit last month claiming Sisolak and other
Clark County officials defamed her and invaded her privacy by
releasing results of a drug test she took.
Sisolak then filed a criminal complaint saying Vermillion tried
to extort him of $3.9 million.
