LAS VEGAS (AP) - A bit of Burning Man is headed to Las Vegas.
Organizers with arts festival First Friday Las Vegas say they're
holding the city's first-ever public burn inspired by the annual
Burning Man Festival in Nevada's Black Rock Desert.
Organizers will ignite a 20-foot tall wooden showgirl sculpture
dubbed "Lucky Lady Lucy" the night of Friday, March 2.
Fire performers are set to kick off a weekend of art and
entertainment in the downtown business district.
First Friday outdoor street festivals have been running in Las
Vegas for nine years and aim to develop a sense of community
downtown.
