PAHRUMP, Nev. (AP) - Authorities in Nye County have arrested a Nevada corrections officer in connection with two armed robberies at a Pahrump convenience store.

The Nye County sheriff's office took 24-year-old Vincent Matthew Czechorosky into custody early Wednesday after a car chase.

The Rebel gasoline station in Pahrump was robbed at gunpoint on Sept. 21 and again Wednesday.

Czechorosky has been booked on suspicion of attempted murder of a police officer, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon, burglary and grand larceny.

Corrections spokeswoman Suzanne Pardee said Thursday that Czechorosky has been terminated from his job at High Desert State Prison in Indian Springs.

Czechorosky's court-appointed public defender, Jason Earnest, told The Associated Press on Friday he had no comment.
