LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police are investigating the death of a Clark County jail inmate who they say collapsed in jail and died at a hospital.

Police say the man had a pre-existing medical condition and had been housed in the jail medical ward on unspecified felony charges since June 22.

Neither police nor the Clark County coroner's office have released the man's name.

Police say he died Tuesday at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, after jail personnel found him unconscious Monday in a jail restroom.
