LAS VEGAS (AP) - Clark County officials are considering security cameras along an urban trail to try to catch vandals, litterers and others.
The county commission is expected to consider a proposal on Tuesday to ask for $141,000 to pay for 23 cameras and 43 mounting brackets for the Flamingo Arroyo Trail in Las Vegas.
The partially built hiking and biking trail is expected to eventually be eight miles long, stretching from the Clark County Wetlands Park to the Maryland Parkway.
The county got $14.4 million for the trail from the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act, which comes from federal land sale proceeds. County officials will consider requesting money from that same source for the cameras.
