LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police have identified the officer who shot and killed a sexual assault suspect this week.
Las Vegas police say Officer Jeremy Hendricks is a 10-year veteran of the police force.
Authorities say Hendricks was interviewing a man suspected of sexually assaulting a child when the man fled. Another detective used a Taser gun, but the man resisted and a scuffle ensued.
Police say Hendricks shot the man, who died at the scene. Hendricks was not injured in the Wednesday shooting.
The man has not been identified.
Hendricks and the another officer involved have been placed on routine paid administrative leave.
