CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - The Nevada attorney general's office is
prosecuting a former state employee on charges she looted a state
program for crime victims.
Tonya Walker is accused of stealing more than $50,000 from the
program and give the money to family members.
The Victims of Crime Program compensates victims for their income loss and medical, funeral and other expenses.
Walker worked as the compensation claims officer for the program
office in Las Vegas.
She is scheduled to appear at an Oct. 21 preliminary hearing
before District Judge John Bonaventure.
